RULE OF THUMB - Regardless of your power rating, go for the largest size barrel you can install / afford. A 300bhp setup running boost, will have lower charge temps with a 5x10 barrel than with a 4x10 barrel.
The AVT Liquid to Air Barrel Intercooler utilises an internal extruded tube for charge gas which is sandwiched between a complex baffled passage of waterside fins for the coolant to multipass through the barrel. This internal design allows for maximum heat transfer but minimal charge gas pressure drop.
